ANPR Patrols

Digitpol operates a European ANPR platform consisting of thousands of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras used to detect stolen vehicles, embezzled vehicles, wanted vehicles, and vehicles linked to insurance fraud investigations. The platform operates across Europe and supports intelligence led vehicle crime investigations for law enforcement agencies, insurers, manufacturers, leasing companies, rental operators, and financial institutions.

Digitpol's purpose built ANPR patrol vehicles are connected to authorised stolen vehicle and intelligence databases. Every registration plate scanned is automatically compared against multiple databases, with a response returned in approximately 400 milliseconds. Patrols are conducted discreetly using covert ANPR equipment while driving through cities, industrial estates, border regions, ports, logistics centres, and major transport corridors, as well as from static roadside and observation locations.

The ANPR patrol service operates on a strict HIT / No HIT basis. If a scanned registration plate does not generate a confirmed match, the scan is immediately discarded and no record is retained. When a confirmed HIT is detected, the alert is verified by Digitpol's ANPR Command Centre through internal intelligence checks and, where appropriate, confirmation with the relevant police authority or vehicle owner. Once the vehicle is confirmed as actively wanted or subject to recovery, Digitpol coordinates the operational response. Where authorised, a specialist recovery operator is dispatched to seize and transport the vehicle in accordance with national legislation and legal recovery procedures.

ANPR Command Centre

Digitpol's ANPR Command Centre, based in the Netherlands, serves as the operational hub for all ANPR activities across Europe. The Command Centre manages live vehicle alerts, verifies ANPR hits, coordinates patrol units, and directs vehicle recovery operations through a secure central platform with API connections to authorised police, insurance, vehicle recovery, and investigation systems.

The platform has been developed specifically to combat cross-border vehicle crime and is one of Europe's dedicated ANPR platforms supporting investigations into stolen and embezzled vehicles. Since 2020, Digitpol has established operational cooperation agreements with police agencies, customs authorities, port authorities, cargo operators, insurers, leasing companies, rental organisations, and other strategic partners throughout Europe, enabling rapid intelligence sharing and coordinated recovery operations across international borders.
