Case Summary
In May 2025, DIGITPOL successfully completed a coordinated cross-border operation involving the recovery of nine high-value stolen vehicles across the Baltic region.
The recovered vehicles included Mercedes-Benz S-Class and G-Class models, BMW X5, X6 and X7 models, and Audi Q8 vehicles.
DIGITPOL's Vehicle Crime Division used vehicle intelligence, tracking technology and investigative analysis to trace and locate the stolen vehicles. Forensic VIN analysis was also used where required to verify vehicle identities, including cases involving attempts to alter or conceal identifying information.
The operation required coordination between DIGITPOL, regional and local police, prosecutors, INTERPOL and other partner agencies across multiple jurisdictions.
All nine vehicles were successfully identified, secured and progressed through the necessary investigative and legal recovery procedures.
Recovery and Repatriation to Germany
Following completion of the required release procedures, DIGITPOL collected the recovered vehicles in the Baltic region and managed their physical repatriation to Germany.
Using DIGITPOL's own vehicle recovery truck and trailer, the vehicles were securely transported from the Baltic region back to Germany.
The operation demonstrates DIGITPOL's ability to manage the complete international vehicle recovery process, from intelligence and tracing through to forensic identification, legal recovery, cross-border transportation and final repatriation.
All nine vehicles have now been successfully returned to their rightful owners.
